Genesis: Sands of Rebirth (2016)

Genesis: Sands of Rebirth is a 3D Platformer with environmental terraforming and elements of Emergent Gameplay.

Working as a Gameplay and Wind System programming, including checkpoint programming and wind mechanics.
Prototype developed in conjunction with 3 other programmers and 4 artists, Concordia University students,  for Ubisoft Game Lab Competition 2016.

In my role as a Gameplay and Systems programmer, I contributed to the development of checkpoint programming and intricate wind mechanics. The wind system I worked on generated dynamic wind curtains that could move within the game world, changing independently of the player's actions. Not only did this system impact the player's experience, but it also allowed the player to influence the wind's trajectory by creating in-game mechanics such as sand rising and positioning obstacles. This interaction between the player and the environment resulted in a deeply engaging and immersive gameplay experience.
