Touchstones are found beach stones from the shores of Lake Michigan meditatively wrapped with assorted fibers. This series is about connecting with the natural world using as many senses as possible. I've been collecting rocks and fibers and textiles most of my life. This series grew out of my long standing rock and fiber obsessions, combined with my more recent meditative practice. Thanks to Chicago artist Jeannette Perkal for introducing to me to the basic technique.
