The aim with this project was to design a service that can be easily integrated into a health care system i.e. electronic health records in a primary care doctor’s office. This service will allow for means of disseminating information about organ donation, specially targeted to younger population of patients. The goal is to address both sides of the fence, helping physicians distribute this information in an effective and efficient process that is integrated into a new patient encounter. The patients will be provided with the option to obtain more information and even engage in a more detailed conversation about the importance of their decision. It will also provide an opportunity for them to ask questions that may be hindering their enrollment as a donor. I believe this provides an excellent opportunity and venue than registering for this program through any other means. I will attempt to expedite the process of registering donors by providing decals for donor’s state ID’s that designate them as enrollees at point of care, as alternative to the DMV. The system overall will be designed to humanize, clarify and expedite a deeply personal choice with the most up to date information under the supervision of a medical professional.
