A short film I completed in 2014. Vroegherfs is a classic Afrikaans poem by the highly regarded NP Van Wyk Louw. The Filmverse project, of which this film is a part, set out to pair animation with spoken poetry from Afrikaans poems. An initiative backed by the ATKV. I was fortunate enough to work with a number of very talented artists in different fields including music, ballet, painting and voice acting. Vroegherfs screened in competition at Monstra (Lisbon animation festival), IndieKaroo film festival (Prince Albert), Zebra Poetry Film Festival (Berlin), Africa in Motion (Edinburgh) and out of competition at Kunjanimation (Cape Town).
