Dabbing is a popular urban dance move

 

My zine is going to be based on the dance move “dabbing” therefore the title of my zine is going to be “Walking and Dabbing”. The title of my zine is inspired by a South African music video “Walking and Dabbing by the artist Aewon Wolf, Gemini and Khuli Chana”. What inspired me about the video was its theme that carried on throughout the music video and its specific landscape background shoots which I feel added to the title of the video.

 

I have decided that the theme of my zine would be different approach to dabbing, I will use the Title of the zine as a mask to hide what is really going on in the zine. The target audience which is - youth or the hip hop culture - would assume that the zine is the literate meaning of the zine title. I will taking photographs of numerous shoots of dabbing for example dabbing while skating and etc. The colour theme that I will use will be a mixture of dark and light images that work in pairs to create a contrast and to become one composition at the end, so basically I will use to pictures that are similar in composition as pairs but the only difference is that the one is lighter and the other darker.

 

To incorporate the hiphop theme in my zine I decided to put A3 poster in, this would be the exact size of A3 and so the sides would prodrude out of the zine this will show the target audience that it is a poster.
