Sungei Road Thieves' Market

About this project:
Singapore evolves so fast that many places emerge and drown at a short period of time. Sungei Road Thieves' Market, which has been around since 1930 is facing a danger of being torn down in 2017 due to MRT Station building. Hence, in this project, I tried to collect an interview, photos, and ambience sound to preserve the heritage in a box.
A secondhand box that I got for free from a seller in the thieves' market
Inside the box, there are a booklet, a walkman with a cassette inside, and a cassette with interview script typed on its ribbon.
This old looking booklet contains brief introduction about the thieves' market and explanation about my project.
I disassembled a cassette and replaced its ribbon with a long tracing paper.
On the tracing paper, printed my interview script with one of the sellers in the thieves' market. To read it, one need to roll the cassette 'wheel' manually.
I bought a second-hand walkman and record the thieves' market ambience sound. The sound is recorded to a cassette.
