National Australian Bank Rebranding - Personal Project

Original Logo - National Australian Bank
This project was made to a school project, and not for any other purposes.

In this project, the brief involved choosing one Australian company to change the logo, creating a rationale and a brand style guide. After that, choosing some products that could be used as promotional material to different types of clients that the company may have.

I chose the National Australian Bank in order to improve the quality and the message that the logo represents. I redesigned the logo using the same concept and using the old rationale as a base to the new one.

First of all I tried to create a more balanced logo, that could tells the history of a confident and solid bank, and that was by changing the angle of the red star. I kept the seventh point but I added more importance to the real meaning of it.
The star used by NAB has 7 points which 6 represent the original estates of Australia and the 7th point reflect the amalgamation of National Bank of Australia, established in 1858, and the Commercial Banking company of Sydney in 1834.
Such as the Commonwealth star used in the national flag, which have seven points and six of those means the original estates but the seventh means the new ones to be discovered.

Now, in a shape of a polished diamond, the 7th point reflect the amalgamation of National Bank of Australia, established in 1858, the Commercial Banking company of Sydney in 1834 and the people (such as the present and future clients).

In the third and final step I simplified the logo by using any effects, in order
to keep it clean and easy to assimilate.
