After sketching the overall look of the type, with pen and post it notes, I drew the shapes in illustrator. To create the type, I used the rectangle tool, pen tool and smooth tool to create shapes. I used guides to keep the type consistently spaced and sized. The serifs were used creating the pen tool. I used the same serif and rectangle width on all of the letters to create uniformity. Once the shapes were created, I used pathfinder to merge them all into one letter.
