MAKING CITIES RESILIENT CAMPAIGN
MAKING CITIES RESILIENT CAMPAIGN
VISUAL IDENTITY
In 2015 I was asked by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) of Geneva to rework the “Making Cities Resilient Campaign“ visual identity in occasion of its re-launch.
However, to ensure continuity between the former and new visual identity (so it could be easily recognized by the ones who are already familiar with the campaign) some key elements had to remain identical.
However, to ensure continuity between the former and new visual identity (so it could be easily recognized by the ones who are already familiar with the campaign) some key elements had to remain identical.
Among the main tasks I was in charge of, I had to create an element which plays a central role in helping to easily identify the campaign, .i.e. a resilient city illustration. To build this visual element, I decided to keep the simple and naive feel which characterized the former campaign’s identity, so it could still convey a positive and friendly image, but “packaged“ in a new visual style. The illustration had to bring focus on smaller cities, but at same time without excluding bigger ones.
Below, in addition to the resilient city illustration, you will see other visual elements created for the campaign and the way they have been used on different communication medias.
Hope you will enjoy the presentation and thank you for watching.
