This is a project I produced in the first year of my studies at Barnet College in 2010/11.

The Brief:

Find a periodical magazine that you find visually appealing, interesting and creative. This choice must be based upon the aesthetics of the magazine and not its actual content (no TV magazines or FHM clones).

You must then identify and analyse the structure of the magazine, nothing the fonts/typefaces, sizes, elements of construction and breaking it apart to reveal the underlying grid structures throughout the page sections. You can provide evidence of these structures by producing annotated, full size grid structure of each of the following:

Magazine cover
Table of contents
Editorial section pages
Article section pages

After you have analysed the structure, you must then create a fictional version of your magazine by using the grid structures you have created.
