Oribag

This is the Oribag, a gift bag designed by We Design for TEDxAthens 2016-Origins.
The Athenian design firm "We Design" undertook the design and production of 1800 Oribags and 1800 pendants. Drawing inspiration from the conference theme, "Origins", We Design used modern processing methods like digital printing and laser cutting, along with traditional materials like wood and rope. The bags were made of Tyvek, in order to resemble crumbled paper.

The Oribag
At first, theTyvek sheets were printed at Fotolio&Typicon in Athens.
Then, at the We Design lab, each Tyvek sheet was laser cut and prepped for sewing.
In addition, 1800 meters of red rope were cut to even pieces using a hot wire cutter
and attached to the bag as shoulder straps.
The Origins pendant
The Origins pendants were laser cut from plywood. At the same time, reels of red string were cut into even pieces to make the pendant strings. After the pieces were carefully measured and cut, they were tied to the wooden disks to complete the Origins pendants.
The Oribags and pendants were distributed during TEDxAthens Origins, on the 6th of February 2016.
