iF Award - Wheel Covered Charger

Participating in the iF Awards in the category of Efficient Energy Usage. Unofficially team up with an engineer major to layout a plan
for a green method to charge up now popular power bank using the rotation of a wheel. More specifically, a car wheel.

This concept device fundamentally helps generates and stores electrical energy. Where every so often on a normal day,
we suddenly find out the lack of electricity availability. Storing into a powerbank that we can use to charge our devices like phones.
By using car wheels that keep going round and round while you are driving on a regular basis, using a dynamo’s mechanism.

The idea rested on that a dynamo could power a powerbank, so through research on videos and picture of their mechanism
help confirm my idea. As well as confirmation from my engineer expert.
Basic blueprint of the device with all the parts from the front view and side view.
The main theory has a dynamo to generate electricity and then transfer the energy to the powerbank attached.
Converting kinetic energy to electrical energy. Sticking to the basics with the North and South of a magnet
to constantly spin pass copper wire coils.

The Wheel Cover Charger is not permanently attached to the wheel, so users can alway easily reattach it to
another car with similar number of knobs on their own. Without needing an expert’s help.

Once installed, users can plug their empty powerbank into the wheel cover’s slot and then start
driving to their destination to eventually take out a charged powerbank. When full, the device will
have a all green light indicator, red when it is not full.
Main Gear follows the direction the wheel is rotating. 3 Small Gears then counter rotate
leading to Outer Gear counter rotate also. Then the center Magnet and Copper Coil start
generating some electricity. For the finishing touches, the device cover and gear
would be made of light metal. While the powerbank would be housed in a slot
with material that insulates heat from the hot tared roads.
Participating in iF Awards requirement of a presentation board to effectively communicate the idea to audience.
Thank you for viewing.
