This project was to create a modern, tongue-in-cheek design update for a HEMA gathering, including logo, packaging, and banner. HEMA stands for Historical European Martial Arts, and it's practitioners fight with swords and other weapons in historically-accurate styles, often medieval—German longsword, for example, is a popular weapon. This design was intended to move away from the "medieval" aspect and focus instead on the martial arts side of things to create a more accessible, fun atmosphere for the gathering.
