SCHLITZ chair / armchair
The concept aims to separate the form of the seating from its function by taking advantage of the natural flexibility of wood. Cut along one edge, the rigid, rectangular plywood panels become soft and flexible. The originally straight laths bend and sink in use and thus give the seating a pleasant and essential curvature. The strict geometry of the chair becomes organic and able to adapt to its user.
Being the first prototype of SCHLITZ, this model is still in development.
