Inspiration
The Spider, Lily Lamp is inspired by both the spider and the spider lily flower. The inspiration for the lamp draws on similarities between the forms of a spider and a spider lily. With organic lines and curvatures intersecting at different angles, the spider lily produces a moiré effect as one walks around it.

Function
The Spider, Lily Lamp is versatile in the way it is hang. It can be attached to the wall or be a standing table. The acrylic reflects direct light from the light bulb and the reflected light is diffused by the veneer on the outer layer, thus housing the light, yet, at the same time, reduce the glare of the light.

Production (trails & errors)
Many errors occurred in the production of the Spider, Lily lamp. One of the most notable one is the breaking of one of the leg of the acrylic. However, it creates a space for the acrylic to be able to be fitted into the light bulb holder and creates a further moiré effect with two layers of acrylic.

Originality or uniqueness
The Spider, Lily Lamp is inspired largely from nature and draws little references to artworks or products in the market. Furthermore, the lamp is made of two different materials with different properties, one being the acrylic, which is transparent, and the other, being wood veneer, which is opaque, yet are able to be used together to produce a lamp.
