0075

0075 was an extensive research project which compared the life of William Stephenson to the fictional James Bond character. Stephenson was considered to be the real-life inspiration for James Bond. Bond’s number, 007 was assigned by Fleming in reference of British naval intelligence’s key achievements of WWI: the breaking of the German diplomatic code, the Zimmerman Telegram coded 0075.
The research project is divided into three parts, A catalogue, process book and a short-lived design piece. The catalogue briefly compares real life to fictional espionage in seven different categories; agents, female agents, weapons, equipment, villains, training and missions. The process book goes more in depth regarding Ian Fleming’s inspiration for writing James Bond and it shows exactly who/what he based his writings on. Finally, the last piece is a redesigned Combat Manual with original content from Camp X (spy school) in the 1940’s, teaching spies assassination techniques and how to “fight dirty”.
