Le Magnifique
Le Magnifique is a symbol of strength and beauty that honors the lifetime achievements of the Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux. This monumental achievement is the result of thousands of hours of work by a team of passionate artists and craftsmen.
The process of building the statue from maquettes to full blown 10' bronze statues took almost two years. I worked closely as the Art Director with Master Sculptor Bruce Wolfe during each phase of the process from conception to installation. Since the hockey community in Pittsburgh is so immersed in the career of Mario it was important to make sure that every detail was exhaustively scrutinized before being crafted.
