This is an original illustration and graphic design. Prominently featuring a galvanizing quote by Rabindranath Tagore, the "Bard of Bengal." Known for his prose and poetry he was the first non-European to receive the Nobel Prize in literature. The first time I read these words they really rang true.

I've created an illustration of a ship and the ocean to set the mood for the quote, and set it all with some nifty typography with lots of awesome, vintage-y distressing.

 

The ship was modeled in 3D, and exported into Photoshop for lost of post work: painting whitecaps and details in the ocean, and massaging those jewel tones into the scene. I composited additional sky and clouds above the render and blended it all together. The type was all set in Illustrator and then exported into Photoshop for distressing. Some texturing all over and some final post work to further tszuj up coloring and contrast and it was set. 

 

I worked on this off and on between client projects so although it only has a few hours into it, I started it well over a year ago. Definitely a slow-cooker on this one.
