The project for the Boyden Library includes a new addition and renovation of the 1960s brutalist building originally by Kilman Hopkins Greeley and Brodie. Environmental graphic design for the building utilized a contemporary and condensed sans serif to complement the glazing treatment of the glass staircase on the feature facade. A square motif references the interior design features and the exposed coffered ceiling of the original building. The simple color palette of white, gray, and red was inspired by mid-century graphic design material. Scope included exterior dimensional signage, bronze dedication plaque, building directories at each floor and elevator landing, collection signage, room identification, and slate donor plaques and dimensional lettering.
