AIGA Idents // Trollbäck + Company

"Discard Everything that Means Nothing" is at the core of the Trollbäck + Company design process. We recently put it at the center of interstitials films that we created for the AIGA National Conference. The "Explosion" ID concept was designed to be shot practically by utilizing physically crafted type and the talents of an expert marksman. The type was created as individual letters cast in plaster with wood molds. The type was then setup with various green screen rigging techniques in a rural location outside of Minneapolis. To create each individual letter explosions, the type was physically shot with a Winchester 243 and a Miro Phantom at 1500fps and then assembled into one cohesive word in post production.
