Ambient Bedside Lighthouse provides gentle and sufficient lightning. The body is made of New Zealand grown wood, Tawa. It has the unique feature of being able to adjust the brightness by turning the top of the lid. The top of the lid is made out of cork which makes lid easy to turn.

 

The idea of turn the lid to adjust the brightness was also contributed by the concept of the light in the lighthouse turning.

In the past lighthouses gave people a sense of security, safety, calmness and joy. This sparked the idea of the purpose and symbolism that a lighthouse gave to the sailors out at sea. It brought to them a feeling of calmness and at ease, since to the sailors seeing a lighthouse means that land was near. It was this feeling that I wanted to portray and bring into my concept.
