These projects all used local materials from Dartmoor, Devon, where I was living at the time. Animal bones and fallen trees are a regular sight, especially near high ground after a tough winter. I chose to use these materials to create everyday functional objects as I find it humbling to be reminded of the balance of life and beauty in nature.

I: An audio amplifier based on a Yamaha Y148 PCB. The skull was dyed in oil paint. All parts were hand cut using a dremel.

II: A floorstanding lamp made out of ivy from a storm stricken oak tree. The cable routing is completely invisible, having been carved into both slate and wood, then filled over and hand painted to match the natural textures.

III: Table lamp made with dyed slate and steel tubing. The slate discs near the top were inspired by stone stacks.
