Facilities branding for Microsoft Tellme
Employee and visitor experience
The launch for the Microsoft Tellme identity was more than an external brand. The new identity was also meant to unify two factions of the organization under a single team mission, so branding the facilities across geographically disparate locations with a consistent look & feel was important.

In collaboration with the facilities team, we identified 19 areas to be branded or re-branded across five global offices (Mountain View, Redmond, Beijing, Montreal, Portugal). Working within the guidelines of corporate facilities branding, we were able to respect the corporate Microsoft brand while distinguishing Microsoft Tellme spaces with our own energy and flavor.

Our facilities branding received positive feedback from employees and management alike. A neighboring organization also inquired as to how they could get similar signage made to reflect team values.
Exterior branding. In the parking lot of the Mountain View office, we installed branded banners on the lampposts to energize people before even entering the building.
The lobby featured a full-wall skin at the entrance to the interior workspaces.
We implemented different signage form factors for each of our two office locations. In our Redmond office, the standard building structure lent itself to more traditional posters to be hung on walls throughout the building. The organization's T.E.A.M. values were displayed in the employee work areas in both offices.
In the Mountain View office, we took advantage of the building's high ceilings and hung signage from the rafters. The brand launch imagery was shown on one side of each sign, and the reverse side featured one of the T.E.A.M. values in each of the employee work areas.
Employees also had access to Microsoft Tellme branded merchandise which could be ordered online or purchased at the local company store. Merchandise could be provided by managers for employee morale or ordered as giveaways for events and customer meetings.
