"Circus Cast"

 

Another school project, this was a group I did for character design and storyboarding. These lively folk were for a short story about a fantasy circus called, of course, "Circus." ^_^ I thought it was a clever and fun idea and I really enjoyed developing them. At some point I may write a comic about them.

 

One of the things I enjoyed about creating this cast was working in uniting elements despite their many differences. The use of diamonds and triangles came from old 1900 (and on through the '30s.) traveling circus posters. The crew were also designed to seem tough enough to handle the hardships on the road and I'd gladly have even Mortimer at my side in a pinch. ^_^
