I was tasked by Pabst Blue Ribbon to create a graphic for their Post Comic-Con event, themed around ‘The Great Royal Marshmallow,’ an obscure character from The Wizard of Oz. The event itself had a dark and twisted Wizard of Oz Realm theme.

To make the marshmallow character fit this theme, I envisioned a vintage 80’s ‘Metal’ version, giving it a dark and commanding presence, which was a creative challenge since marshmallows aren’t inherently menacing. I stayed within PBR’s brand colors for the design. This graphic was used extensively to promote the event and printed on various merchandise, including 300 superhero capes that attendees wore both during Comic-Con and afterward to promote the brand
