I wanted to show a path through feelings, difficult situations, in short, I wanted to illustrate life.
The main idea of the animated video is that sometimes we feel lonely or even displaced by society, we usually blame ourself and we try to change who we are just to try to fit to the standards. But what we don't realize is that maybe we are just who we suppose to be.
The river with those corpses represent the "society", the way we suppose to be. This absorbs us and changes us, and if we don't realize and don't do something to change it, we are lost. The main character is absorbed by the society, but his essence fights against it. It is when he realizes that he is different and does not have to change.
I started writing the script for the animation based on what the song made me feel.
After this I created the Storyboard with all the scenes of the animation, I made a research to find the convinient style for the piece and I created few styleframes.
I Illustrated the main Character and all the Backgrounds in Illustrator and I prepared them for animation.
In After Effects I made the composition for each scene adjust the mood, and I made the animation (All the animation is done in After Effects).
To make this video just Illustrator and After Effects had been used.
All the project had been made in 4 weeks.
