identity and cd cover for Gourmand, a jazz, funk, spoken word band
a gourmand is a person who enjoys eating and often eats too much. the gluttony of the Gourmand band is taking form in the music, the band combines the slam poetry and contemporary poetry uniquely with jazz/funk/atmospheric baselines. designing their identity and cover for their first LP, announced in 2015 i tried to highlight both the culinary reference and the musical diversity.
i shaped a tuning fork and a microphone recalling the fork-knife sign in the logo. i developed two surfaces for the identity: an organic black one which would change for every released albums. for the Mindenevő (meaning: omnivorous) LP this surface is created by stamps of different, painted foods (pastas, vegetables, fruits, seeds ect.). in contrast the colored vectorgraphic is a stable element of the identity, appearing on different materials of the band. depending of the new albums, only the color would change of these. the colored graphic elements are consisted of solid stains and sketchy doodles. this duality, the texture of the organic black and the colored vectors refers to the symbiosis and harmony of the music and the text.

arculat és cd-borító a jazz, funk és spoken wordöt játszó Gourmand zenekar számára
a gourmand nagyétkű, falánk személy, aki nagy élvezettel fogyasztja az ételt. a Gourmand falánksága a zenében merül ki, a zenekar a slam poetryt és a kortárs költészetet egyedülálló módon házasítja jazz/funk/atmoszférikus alapokkal. arculatuk, és első, 2015-ben megjelent nagylemezük megtervezésekor mind a gasztronómiai párhuzamot, mind a zenei sokszínűséget igyekeztem megragadni.
a logóban a kés-villa jelet idéző hangvillát és mikrofont formáztam meg. az arculathoz kétféle felületet alakítottam ki, egy organikus feketét, mely minden album esetén változó lenne. a Mindenevő albumhoz ezt a felületet különböző ételek (tészták, gyümölcsök, zöldségek, magok stb.) felfestékezett lenyomatával hoztam létre. a színes, vektoros grafika ezzel szemben egy stabil arculati elem lenne a zenekar különböző anyagain, melynek csupán a színe változna az újabb albumok esetén. a színes grafikai elemek tömör foltokból, valamint vázlatszerű, firkaszerű formákból állnak. ez a formabeli kettősség, a fekete organikus és a színes vektoros formák szövete a zene és a szöveg szimbióziására, harmóniájára is utal.
