Lamp "Checkers"

This lamp was made in 14 hours during a challenge. It is made from disregarded & used materials found at a scrapyard. I wanted to create a lamp with an industrial look and feel and a warm lightbeam. This was achieved by using checker plate as material on the outside and plating the inside with wood from an old piano. The leg is steel residu from lasercutting. The edge of the lampshade has some unexpected corners which gives you the option to either use the side which gives a lot of light or the more conceiled side of the lamp. The steel hasn't had any treatment, allowing it to change and evolve over time.

Made: 2015
Materials: wood, steel, lightbulb and red wire
