We created a TV ad for Mark Ronson’s “Record Collection” using stop-frame animation created with found and modified toys.
We built a mixture of 1:12 and 1:6 scale sets out of found toys and also some custom made bits.
The sets were then lit by DoP Marcus Domleo and animated by Kevin Walton with a Canon 5D and Dragon Stop Motion.
We worked with toy customiser Stuart Witter to create the models for the musicians. Stuart used off the shelf 1:6 scale dolls and modified the joints by wiring them so they could be moved fluidly for animation. Stylist Lizzie Burns then created really detailed 1:6 scale clothing for all the dolls in the piece.
Record Collection won best Music TV Ad at the UK Music Video Awards.
