CORNER HOUSES
LUDWIGSHAFEN

HÄUSER AM ECK / MAISONS DU COIN / CASE D'ANGOLO

Not known for architectural diversity and beauty, rather for alleged ugliness and for a chemistry company called BASF which is the largest producer in the world, the city of Ludwigshafen has it's own charm.
Therefore this photographic project, which emphasizes a specific architectural type of house – corner houses, is meant to illustrate, investigate and even disprove. In fact there is evidence that Ludwigshafen does offer a certain quantity of variety and attractiveness through a mixture of industrial buildings, noble pre-war town houses, low price contructed council houses and few new area houses. On a closer look each fassade tells a unique story of its origin and past and reveals the multifaceted nature of Ludwigshafen.
