DESIGNBER FEST / 十二月设计节 by CUTOUT

For six years now, CUTOUT is trying to expand its brand, to include its exposure and involvement in design-driven countries outside of Malaysia, particularly Taiwan. To do so, CUTOUT is coming up with a new and signature event to be used as a medium to communicate its messages across.

Designber Fest, as it is called, runs for a month. This will be CUTOUT’s first attempt to present Designber Fest in Taiwan and it will have creative components such as talks and exhibitions.“muse” is derived from Middle English, Middle French, Medieval Latin and Ancient Greek, a verb to describe
“to think or meditate in silence, as on some subject”.

14 designers from 5 countries will present their artworks at HAM Gallery in Taiwan in a poster exhibition and art installation for a month. One of the great things about this designer’s gathering is definitely the forum component whereby the founder of CUTOUT, Jay Lim and his two good friends, who are Ryosuke Tei from Japan and Macaca from Taiwan will share the stage in a forum speaking on the topic of design, branding and creativity. The forum is taking place on the 30th October 2015. Just a day before October ends, that’s what the Kaohsiung City people will witness - that is, a dynamic collaboration made possible with the strong support from the design network in which CUTOUT has been privileged to be a part of. Next on the list in Designber Fest will be the same exhibition but in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - the home country and base of CUTOUT! That’s right, all 14 designers from 5 countries namely Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia whose works will be exhibited at the GALERI Tsubaki. Here’s hoping to create more awareness about design and well, just be supportive of each other as they progress ahead in life as designers.
