Apocalyptic Landscape Finished
My apocalyptic landscape is a an old design, made of cartboard with tranparent coloured paper (2004, 28 x 35 cm). I recently finished the foreground, a puddle of blood and my father made the framework.
There is a long tradition of apocalyptic landscape painting in Northwest Europe, wich seems a good idea at that time for a subject for a cartonnage. Apart of it's moralistic and religious content, crowding of people is a grateful subject for drawing, especially in such a landscape; knights in shiny armor, drawn swords and rivers of blood.
