Cover illustration done for Chilango Magazine. Chilango is a popular magazine from Mexico, focusing on news, humor and culture primarily within the Mexico D.F area. 

This issue is about Polanco, which is a trendy upscale neighborhood with some great restaurants, museums, and beautiful architecture. 
For the illustration they wanted a collage of iconic symbols of Polanco, referencing a very precise illustration style: loose, sketchy with funky colors and hand drawn type.

The work of powerful illustrator James Gulliver-Hancock was strongly suggested as a reference for this piece, which is why I want to mention him as my main inspiration for this project.

An illustrated a map with popular landmarks of the area was also done for this issue, so you will find plenty of loose architectural illustrations.
