The prompt of this project was to create a small leather good. I wanted to design a solution for carrying medicine that was also fashionable. Women who suffer from conditions that require medications must either dig through their normal bag or transfer necessities between bags depending on daily activities. In order to keep all medications accessible, my solution needed to be versatile so that the user could pack it into their daily bag or carry it on its own.
After drafting a pattern and making test models in felt, I was ready to construct my final product. I used brown and black mock-leather for the exteriors and blue and red cotton for the linings. I created a welt zipper closure and added a handle for easy carry.
After all the threads were clipped, the Trapeze Clutches were ready for photography.
