In 2020 San Francisco hopes to hold an international exposition, which will be the third such event in city's lifetime. The exposition as an architectural construction exists in a dichotomy, at once sprawling, colourful, wilfully silly, yet carefully promoting the interests and investments of nation states and multinational corporations.
extruding the grid of the city
Notion of the project evolves around the american urge for controlling the landscape.
The city's biggest landmark - fog is being used to extrude the gridwork of the city for extreme-touristism purposes. Different ways of manipulating the mist have been translated into a set of working components of the system that potentially could exist in the whole city. Proposals sited within highly photographed areas enhance the image of San Francisco and provide super-natural experience for this touristically-exploited landscape.
