Giucy Giuce is the handle for quilter G. Ribaudo. His quilting style is modern and innovative, embracing bright colors and patterns. For his logo we knew we wanted to represent his portrait — his signature beard and glasses. The logo really came together once we started applying geometric shapes to create the beard and glasses, shapes reminiscent of the quilting process of paper-piecing different fabrics together to create an image. Because color is such an integral part of G’s work, we used a multi-colored strip along the business card, utilizing the same technique with pieced-together triangles.
We extended the application into a set of tags that G can attach to pieces that he sends off, whether it be quilts, pillows, or handmade bags and scarves.
