The half inch lip around the recessed panel draws the audience in, by creating cast shadows and reflected light, which effectively become the lightest and darkest moments in the composition. [Inspired by James Turrell's "Void" works.]

Upon deeper inspection of "Persona", a reflective polycarbonate surface allows the audience to see themselves within the composition.
