Arkitekt is a theoretical high end architectural magazine, aimed at male and female professional, amateur and student architects who value an informed awareness and knowledge of international contemporary design.
The layout structure needed to show off the inspiring building designs that I chose to feature for the content of this issue of the magazine. I wanted to keep the layout shapes angular to reflect the structure of the buildings, but simple so as not to interfere with the splendor of the buildings- rather support the images, and show them off in their full glory. I believe that this angular design will be able to develop in further issues of the magazine, by using this shape with different colours, photos and also to highlight specific parts of text.
The front cover also demonstrates how the content is dedicated to architectural achievement, the design again is kept simple and angular, the masthead can be different colours/embossed/foiled to provide endless alternatives for future issues. I believe the use of the full page photograph should be upheld for each issue, in order to keep the magazine standing apart from it's competitors on the shelf, which use white borders/smaller images and mastheads backed on a white margin.
