Ladakh

"Ladakh ("land of high passes") (Ladakhi: ལ་དྭགས la'dwags; Hindi: लद्दाख़ ; Urdu: لَدّاخ‎) is a region in Jammu and Kashmir that currently extended from the Kuen Lun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet."

During my holidays I spend 20 days in India, most of the time in Ladakh, the very north of India.
There I joined on the 26th of August 2015 a group of 10 vivid and unbelievably kind women from Germany for a Trekking Tour from Likir to the small village Ang.

28th of August

The third day began as usual with a delicious breakfast. After finishing that we packed our bagpacks and started hiking over the Sermanchan-La to Hemis Shupkachan where our daily dose of trekking came to an end. We all decided to get some rest right after we had our lunch at the camp. In the evening a part of the group visited the local gompa that was bathing in the warm light of the setting sun.
