Early in 2015 I was asked by the theatrical folk band Mr.Cat and The Jackal to create a band poster for them to use for their future shows. I sat down and analyze the theme of the band and I figured out for me their sounds is more aimed on traditional instruments and olden themes.
As a pipe smoker myself, I figured out, if the band was a type of nicotine they would be the older version of it. Adding all those themes together I decided the pipe's smoke would morph in to their wide range of instruments. They loved what I did with my Odyssey in Ink series of me painting in ink so they requested I should do the same with this poster. In the end, it fits a lot with the entire theme.
