Type Alchemy - Typographic Coding Experiment

Type Alchemy started with a program made with the programming language Quartz Composer, the program generated symbols from pre-existing fonts such as Times and Garamond. This being a Typographic brief, and considering that most of the fonts I were using were used in letterpress before they became digitised. I decided to convert the generated symbols to letterpress blocks, from digital to analogue. From these blocks patterns were printed in the print room to go along side quotes from artists and designers on the topic and importance of experimenting with art. These quotes were written in a font which was also generated with the same program. All placed inside a folder contained inside a letterpress drawer.
