The Black Horse Pub Facade

This was, so far, my biggest sign painting challenge and I was really happy to have pulled it off.
A 15ft long, 2ft wide and 2in thick wood sign, weighting around 330lb, painted black e surface gilded with imitation gold and a green drop shadow.

Took me over 3 weeks from defining the layout and color with the cliente to finally installing it, and moving it around my garagem to sand, varnish and paint both sides on my own was really hard work, but it paid off.

Here''s a photo of the sign installed, followed by some pictures of the process. Hope you like it !
Sketching the layout of the facade sign and another one (still to come)
Cutting and prepping this monster was hard work.
Transfering layout to the board in one of my favorite parts, means it's time to start painting...
Gilding and mopping... there's still pieces of leaf all around my house =P
Imitation gold is definitely not the same finish as real gold, but it still looks good.
Took my parking spot...
...at the pub, waiting to go up!
THANKS FOR WATCHING!
