In November 2014, Hope invited me out to Sri Lanka to visit and document some of their projects out there. A lot of the work that Hope does in Sri Lanka supports children with learning difficulties and mental health disorders. We were told that some families would outcast young children and sometimes their mothers from a family if they were born with a mental heath disorder. Hope provides support to centres and schools that care for these children and offer them a chance at a relatively normal life. This video picks up on the story of a young girl called Dilrukshi (spelling not confirmed), who attends the MENCAFEP school in Nuwara Eliya, a town high up in the mountains.
