The Inside/Out Gallery: Student Success Poster Campaign highlights student success stories at Eastern Washington University (EWU) and is part of a current initiative at EWU to improve student success and define what it looks like on campus. Selected students from a variety of academic programs on campus were photographed and interviewed about their stories of success at EWU. The unique stories collected in these short interviews were used to typographically highlight photographs of each student in 9 different posters. Collectively, the posters speak to different aspects of student experiences that have led to student success (i.e., advising, living learning communities, faculty, clubs, etc.).
The goal of this project was showcasing student stories in a non-traditional way and place; raising awareness about the importance of and emphasis on student success efforts at EWU; hands-on, project-base learning for students; and making cross-disciplinary, collaborative connections across campus.
The project is a joint effort of multiple students and faculty, bringing together different art mediums to communicate the message of student achievement. Each member of the project participated in the the creation and development of the posters - it was a collaborative effort and the resulting designs reflect this process. The product is a unique and effective campaign emphasizing and exampling student success at EWU.

The poster campaign was presented at the 2015 National Conference on Undergraduate Research, won a 2015 Silver ADDY Award for District XI and an award of Excellence in the 44th annual UCDA Design Competition.
