ColourNext 2015
My City My Home: an installation based on reclaiming public spaces as our own, and colouring it with a unique, beautiful soul, designed by Wari Watai for ColourNext 16, a trend forecast event. The idea was conceptualised by the team, to do a bold intervention on a gate like structure, a common sight in our neighbourhoods.

The portion I worked on, here, is a simple cross stich pattern with solid colour blocks, for the metal grill. Different yarns and square grid sizes were explored with different stitching techniques, and a cartoon was created to execute the same.
The final grid was embroidered using yarns dyed in the colours forecasted that year, with the help from a few interns from Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore.
