This piece was created for a creative review article about the art of illusion. I was inspired by the art Shigeo Fukuda and Cornelia Parker. Although it would have been relatively easy to fake the effect, i did in fact create it for real (well CGI real). To do this took a bit of lateral thinking. I created a virtual camera lined up with the spotlight looking down at the wall. I could then see exactly from the spotlight's POV how the shadow would fall. I then moved the feathers around to form the shape of the tiger. Not as easy as it sounds, but easier than trial and error.
