STUDENT RESIDENCE
The project was inspired by the human body, and its composition. References to the body can be found in the forms and masses of the building as well as in the circulation of the floor plans, and in the balance of the curves. The structure wraps around the tower and the theater as a supporting and protecting skeleton. The HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems are like the cardiovascular system of the body. The building is about exposing the student dancers to the community and connecting the community to them, hence the design of the ramp and the skin-like curtain wall.
