Peggy O'Casey
The character I created for my uni assignment, Peggy O’casey is a greaser mechanic in the 1950’s. She’s a no nonsense rockabilly bombshell. Her personality a product of the new powers arising for woman in America after the end of World War II. Unlike many woman who gave over their war time jobs back to men to return to their domestic spheres, she keeps her job as a mechanic. Her clothes are reflective of her time when tight black pants and large hairdos can be seen all over popular culture in movies such as Grease and celebrities such as Elvis.
Keith & Tama
Keith and Tama were part of the same project, creating a face for a local community. My first concept was of keith, a humerous and distinctively new zealand character. Water colors helping to build on his natural and free feeling. After discussing him with my client I revised it to Tama. This new design was more relateable in appearance to the people that were being appealed to while still kepping his humerous nature. Both are designed
