Flute Recital Poster

For this project, I really wanted the poster to stand out from all the other recital posters seen in the Fine Arts building. Despite sharing the 2nd floor with music majors, it seemed rarely did we ever reach out to one another. Most senior recital posters fell into the standard 11x8.5 sheet or even the occasional 11x17 and were often printed on white or standard colored paper with black text. What I aimed to do was set Roger apart with his poster–to show he was not only a talented flutist, but was willing to invest additional resources to prove it.

Using shape and length of the flute to my advantage, I halved the 11x17 into 5.5x17, so that the unusual shape would stand out. I also chose to use a light, sky blue and white, which I felt complimented the lighter notes of the instrument. As per the original creative brief I chose to highlight parts of the poster that were most relevant to the event, such as the composers, time and place, accompaniment, and Roger himself.
Thanks for watching!
