Scenic/Fabrication - Field Station Dinosaurs

There's an amusement park in Secaucus, NJ called Field Station Dinosaurs, which features a large number of life-size animatronic dinosaurs. I worked as a scenic there for two seasons. Hurricane Sandy happened between my two seasons of work there, so there was an intensive periiod of over two weeks, in which our crew repaired all damage done to the dinosaurs by the storm...which was substantial, as you can see below.
Typical fixes like these were done after the welders or mechanics had cut into the dinosaur's body in order to get inside and repair any motors or armature. We would then glue shut the opening, stitch it, seal it and paint over it to make it look as if there never was a cut. Shown here, me inspecting the Parasaurolophus.
The Argentinosaurus - the largest dinosaur to have ever lived, in prehistoric times, as well as in Secaucus today, got severely damaged during Sandy. So much so that she had fallen to one side towards the hill she was standing on and got impaled by branches in many places. There was a nice view of the NYC skyline from the top of her back.
The Ankylosaurus always seemed to need eye surgery. Something in his mechanics didn't quite work all the time because his eyeball would move as the eylid opened and closed, dragging the material back and forth and wearing it out. This was one of at least three such "dinoplasty" procedures I did.
One of the the T-Rexes also got severly damaged during Sandy, losing a part of his tail (temporarily until it was fixed), dislocating his jaw, as well as impaling damage from branches, simlar to the Argentinosaurus. There was a huge gash on his neck that we had to fill and cover up extra carefully because it was not only an exposed area, but also a stress point on his body whenever he moved his head from side to side. Needless to say, we did great.
